If you’re concerned about dark spots or sun damage to your complexion, Infinity Medical Aesthetics & Wellness can perform a skin examination to see if you’re a good candidate for IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy. An IPL photofacial with the Lumecca™ system is a noninvasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses intense wavelengths of light to heat the skin and stimulate the natural collagen production process. As the added nutrients take effect, this can help to create a more even skin tone and minimize the look of hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun damage, and wrinkles. Our expert team can provide more information during a consultation at our Kalispell, MT office, so contact us today to get started.

HOW DOES IPL WORK?

IPL is performed at our Kalispell, MT facility in around 20 – 30 minutes. To prepare for the procedure, your technician will clean and dry your skin before protecting your eyes with goggles. The IPL photofacial is performed using a handheld wand that will pass over the skin while emitting pulses of light energy. While most patients may feel some discomfort throughout IPL, it is usually tolerable. After IPL, your face might appear somewhat red and inflamed, but this should not last long. Over the next 2 – 5 days, the blemishes under the skin will rise to the surface and then begin to flake off. It’s crucial to keep your skin protected with sunscreen and to not pick at the flaking skin. Our team suggests approximately 3 – 6 sessions scheduled every four weeks or so.

IPL FAQS

How do I prepare for IPL treatment?

Infinity Medical Aesthetics & Wellness will provide information about how to prepare for your first IPL session. We recommend avoiding sun exposure, tanning beds, and other activities that make your skin more sensitive prior to treatment. Some medications and supplements also increase your risk for adverse reactions during IPL.

What are the risks of IPL?

IPL is considered a safe treatment, especially when compared to alternative solutions like facelift surgery. Of course, no cosmetic treatment is without some risks. IPL may cause increased redness, slight swelling, and discomfort while the area heals. Our aesthetic team can provide information on how to prevent or decrease these side effects at home.

Will my IPL results look natural?

Some anti-aging solutions like cosmetic injections can create unnatural results. IPL is a safe and minimally-invasive treatment that creates more natural and subtle outcomes. Patients in Kalispell, MT, are free to discuss the range of results they can expect during a skin assessment. We can also show you before and after photos of previous IPL patients.
